Too Much Negativity – Let’s Spread Some Positivity!

Too much negativity spreading around just now…let’s spread some positivity 👍

1️⃣ Give someone a compliment (in person, call or message) 😊

2️⃣ Write down something you are grateful for 🙏

3️⃣ Set a health-focused goal for the week (meal prep? workout? walk during work breaks? read a book before bed?) ✅

Don’t let any of this negativity shift your focus! Keep smashing your goals and keep spreading happiness!

As a personal trainer, let me know if you need any help with fitness ideas for being at home etc. 💪

Positive Attitude

I really like this quote because it emphasizes the importance of POSITIVE ATTITUDE and of having a POSITIVE MINDSET!

We often waste way too much time, energy & effort on negative thoughts! Instead, try and shift your focus to POSITIVITY!

Believe in yourself, have faith in the process & of experience, and stay positive 👍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s easier said than done – I won’t deny that- but that little bit more of positivity will still be absolutely worth it 🙌

Know Your Why

Knowing your “WHY” (main purpose or belief that drives you to reach & accomplish your desired goals) in terms of training can help you to:

➡️Define your goals & direction.
➡️Create a plan with realistic & actionable steps.
➡️Establish values, principles & habits that support your goals.
➡️Stay consistent & motivated, especially when things are tough.

Whether you are starting your health & fitness journey or whether you are far along it, understanding your WHY will make a HUGE impact in helping you achieve your short- and long-term goals!
•••
Examples could be:
“Remaining independent & functional as we grow older”
“Becoming healthier & stronger both mentally & physically”
“Eating to fuel my body appropriately”
“Being part of a positive & supportive community”
•••
My “why” has certainly changed over time & I am sure it will continue to do so – that is okay 👍

Make Fitness Fun

No matter where you are on your fitness journey, make sure that you are making it FUN!

FUN ➡️ MOTIVATION & CONSISTENCY ➡️ PROGRESS ➕ RESULTS 👊

Some ways to keep things fun:
• Do it with someone (a friend, co-worker, personal trainer, group class or sport etc.)

• Try different fitness types to find one you enjoy (think CrossFit, weightlifting, running, climbing, yoga, hiking etc.)

• Keep your workouts varied

• Listen to your favourite jams or podcast

• Get outside (explore somewhere new)

• Maybe it’s just fun to think of nothing else but working out for 45 mins?

Comment below and let me know how you make fitness fun!

“Behind the Scenes” of a Personal Best: Mental Health

2017 when I deadlifted 198 lbs (90 kg) ➡️ 2020 today when I lifted 295 lbs (134 kg)

YES I’m proud of the personal best but that isn’t what I’m actually most proud about or why I shared the video. What I am most proud of is all of my hard work behind the scenes:

1️⃣ Taking everyday of the 3-year period to improve my mental health
2️⃣ Being strong enough to ask for help when I need it
3️⃣ Resilience to hold myself accountable in achieving realistic goals
4️⃣ Dedication to getting outside once a day and to keep moving daily
5️⃣ Staying positive when things are shite ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The list goes on, but those are the first five that came straight to mind! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You often just see the “final product” on social media! I wanted to share that it takes damn hard work; lots of ups and downs; and a long time to achieve goals!

When I look at this picture comparison, what I see is the significant and important change in my mental state! Where I was once consumed by constant negativity, seclusion, anxiety and self-loathing. Through personal training, I developed self-acceptance, confidence, mental resilience and physical strength.

I have become happy with WHO I AM! But this has taken 5 years of DAILY hard work. To be honest, there are certainly days when things aren’t perfect and certain negative feelings creep in, but I have learned to accept this inevitability, recognize the warning signs, and positively react using the many mechanisms of help that I have learned through my mental, physical and fitness health journey.
•••
I am BEYOND excited to be a personal trainer! I want to use my experience to help others.
My goal is to be that POSITIVE IMPACT and POSITIVE INFLUENCE on the lives of other people by:
1. Helping people achieve their health & fitness goals
2. By spreading happiness, a positive attitude and by simply caring about others
•••
Everyone deserves to be healthy, fit and happy!
Stay strong; Stay positive; Be resilient 💪👍

Fulfillment by Helping Others

First of all, I firmly believe that it is incredibly important and absolutely necessary to look after ourselves!

However, the truth is – we are not alone – and by helping others, we definitely help ourselves! 🙌

Having the opportunity to help others achieve their own health & fitness goals and overcome their own life challenges is certainly fulfilling for me! Through this, I also learn so much more about myself and about the vitality of human connection!

➡️We are never alone.
➡️Reach out to those in need.
️➡️Never be afraid to ask for help. #WednesdayWisdom

Keep It Simple

Sometimes the best thing to do in life and in training is to just KEEP IT SIMPLE!

In life, keep it simple by being the best you everyday; be kind to yourself and to others; work hard and give your full effort in all endeavors! 🙌

In training, use the basic movements (think deadlift, squat, overhead/horizontal push movement and a pull movement) and slowly increase intensity (think more more sets/reps, more weight or less rest) overtime! 👊

My WHY

I wanted to share with you all my “WHY” – the reason that I have chosen to become a personal trainer.

As I mentioned in my bio – and as you can see to the left – I have had my own past experience of being extremely underweight and having a bad relationship with both exercise and food.

Through 5 years of personal training and daily hard work – mentally and physically – I have been able to on over 50 pounds of healthy muscle mass; and have also established a healthier relationship with my health and fitness.

I want to be that POSITIVE IMPACT and POSITIVE INFLUENCE for other people by using my own experience to the benefit of others by empowering them to overcome their own struggles and by helping them achieve their health and fitness goals!

Everyone deserves to be healthy, fit and happy! I want to make this a reality and help others become the healthiest, fittest and happiest version of themselves!
